This is the loveliest sterling silver tea service we have found! It is incredible! The silver is warm and glowing, the design quite ornate from the handles to the bases to the trim around the spouts. T are baskets or urns filled with flowers, leaves, and scrolly designs, just beautiful. It is in very good condition too. We have not polished it because some people like the patina to prove it has some 'age' to it. But it will surely polish up wonderfully, if you choose. Included is a coffee pot, tea pot, tall cream pitcher, covered sugar bowl and even a 'spooner.' All pieces have the same pattern, definitely a set. And all are clearly marked on their base "Hand Chased Sterling by Frank B. Whiting & Company" and a number follows "7186." We'll start with the largest item, the coffee pot. It stands nearly 12" tall and about 10-1/2" from spout to handle. Note that the handle has two 'rings', we believe to be ceramic. In addition to the stated markings, it reads "3-1/2 Pint." The hinged lid is nice and secure and knob has an 'acorn' motif. Next is the tea pot, which is shorter, but has "3-3/4 Pint" on the base. It's approx. 11" tall and 10-1/2" from spout to handle. Same two 'rings' on the handle. Same tight hinged top. The covered sugar is next. The lid comes off, just as it should. Measures approx. 8-1/2" tall and 7-1/2" from handle to read more
