On the back side it reads: "LBS, 1.5 CU. FT., LOT F.A. 2069". Notice on the lid, which easily opens, it was originally sealed shut with some sort of bolt, all six screws are still in place. It reads " SMALL ARMS AMMUNITION, LOT F. A. 2069. T is one chunk of wood chipped off ~ which you can see in the photo. The box measures 18 1/4 inches long, 14 3/4 inches high and 9 1/4 in. deep. The wood is a little over 1 inch thick on sides and 3/4 in. thick on the front and back. The lid is 1 inch thick.
