Up for auction is this nice Franklin Mint Bicentennnial Medal set. Comes with Certificate of authenticity, certifys that the medals match the serial number #10703, and are a matched set of hallmarked proofs designed and scuptured by Gilroy Roberts as the Franklin MInts special tribute to the Bicentennial of the United States of America . It is further cerified that the sterling silver medal contains 2000 grains of solid sterling silver and the bronze medal contains 2,000 grains of solid bronze. These Medals were one of the most challenging works of medallic art ever undertaken by Gilroy Roberts. These medals bears the portraits of thirty famous Americans whose accompishments have become part of our national heritage. The reverse of these medals which serves as the Franklin Mints own tribute to our countrys 200th Anniversary bears the Bicentennial dates 1776-1976 and the very appropriate words which being the preamble to our Constitution" "We, the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.....
