In 1990, The Franklin Mint issued a Second Edition of THE TREASURY OF CAROUSEL ART. This set is comprised of one dozen beautifully hand-painted porcelain replicas of some of the most prized LATE 19TH & EARLY 20TH CENTURY CAROUSEL ANIMALS ever preserved in Private American Collections. For your perusal we have THE MAN OF WAR HORSE, a re-creation of the carousel horse now housed in The International Museum of Carousel Art. This carousel was designed by Johann Muller, master carver of the Philadelphia School of Carousel Art. THE MAN OF WAR HORSE is suspended on a spindled brass bar which mounts to an oval base of Walnut with a felt underlining. It measures 6 3/8" at the top of the bar, 3 3/4" at the saddle. This Graded Condition of this FRANKLIN MINT MAN OF WAR CAROUSEL HORSE is: EXTREMELY FINE+ CONDITION . The base is moderately figured, and has excellent finish depth. This carousel has one very minor finish irregularity (-2 points). Of 100 Possible Points, this FRANKLIN MINT MAN OF WAR CAROUSEL HORSE receives a Numeric Score of: 98 POINTS .
