FRANKLIN MINT HEIRLOOM DOLL DATED 1988
This a a gorgeous, rare porcelain doll or statue by Franklin Mint, Heirloom Collection. I have tried many times to research this beauty but could not find anything about her; I can only go on my brothers story about her. This was his pride and joy of all his dolls. She comes with her own glass and cherry wood case. He said all the jewels are genuine, includes pearls, garnet (or rubies), diamond, and gold.
NOTE: Received information, her name is Princess Anastasia (revised 8/6/08)
~The Porcelain Doll~
Her entire body is porcelain with joints at the knees, hips and arms. Her face is beautifully hand painted with green eyes. She has long brunette hair curled in ringlets that can be pulled over her shoulders or pushed back to display her earrings. She stands 22 inches tall. Her back exhibits the markings, Franklin Heirloom 1988.
~The Gown and Cape~
She displays a beautiful cape that is of heavy brocade with fine gold thread; the cape is lined in red satin. The outer panels and sleeves of her gown is again brocade but to add a touch of royalty, is adorned with at least 100 pearls; the skirt is made of satin.
~The Jewels~
Under her long locks of hair she reveals earrings with pearls and garnets. Two medallions on her red sash, one displays a small diamond in the center. Her cape flaunts two crowns attached to layered gold chains, each crown have pearls and marquis cut garnets. The detailed work of the gold crown exhibits more pearls, garnets and a large marquis cut garnet in the center. The crown can either be displayed in her a hands or worn on her head.
~The Display Case~
The display case is constructed of glass and cherry finished wood. At the top of the case, each corner has a gold toned ornament . The case measures 26" high by 14".
~The Low Down~
This doll belonged to my late, great brother who had a huge collection of dolls. He did not save the boxes and many times no certificates. I have not yet gone through all of his belongings to find that special box that might hide all of his collectible COA's, so this doll does not include the original box or tags.
Throughout the last few years of moving this doll and case, I noticed a fine crack or scratch on the front glass of the case. Otherwise, all is in excellent condition.
I thank you for your interest and welcome any questions or information you can pass on to me about this beautiful doll. Due to the size of the case and the unique features of this doll, insurance will be necessary to protect you and me!!!
