And on the edge of the medal it reads that it is 500 grains. I weighed it as being around 22dwt. that's a little over an ounce of sterling silver. The medal is also minted with a beautiful Proof Cameo finish. The obverse side of the medal you will see the American in question with his or hers most notable accomplishment. And on the reverse side it gives the name of the American and how long they lived.Each coin is sonically sealed in a hard plastic case, with a hologram, and custom information label with unique serial number and watermark.
