This is a stunning Imperial Eagle Jeweled Egg created by the House of Faberge and distributed by the Franklin Mint. This is one of two originally in my collection. The other has sold! Both were part of a limited edition of 1500 worldwide. The eggs that formed this original collection by Igor Carl Faberge are no longer available for sale to the public - only through the secondary market. This piece was created for the 150th anniversary of Faberge. It is one of the most spectacular of all the eggs in the edition. The original price on this piece was $6,900.00. Anything made like it today would exceed $15,000 due to the special design and use of precious metals and jewels. This egg is approximately 8 1/2" tall and 3 1/2" wide. The egg is sculpted of SOLID .925 STERLING SILVER (over 2 lbs) and is lavishly accented with 24K gold, 12 genuine sapphires (over 1 1/2 carats) and 8 genuine emeralds (over 1 carat). The exterior of the egg is finished in a gorgeous ruby red guilloche enamel which has been applied over the gold finished surface of this sterling piece. A garland design in gold overlays the entire body of the egg. The surprise inside is a beautiful imperial eagle brooch made of solid 18K gold. It has 12 faceted diamonds, 2 pear-shaped rubies and a ruby accenting the crown on which the broch rests. The interior is lined in velvet. read more
