Franklin Mint Fifty-State Bicentennial Medal Collection of 50 silver medals in original plastic holders and original blue album. Each coin is approximately 1.5 inches in diameter and approximately 1 ounce of silver. The melt value alone is close to $600. These commemorative medals were produced for the US Bicentennial celebration in 1976. This collection includes all 50 medals in their original holders and album. They come to me via the estate of a family member. To the best of my knowledge, the medals have never been removed from their plastic holders or the album since they were originally purchased. The medals show only a slight amount of tarnish. The blue album in which they are housed is in excellent condition, with only a slight indentation on the bottom face on which it rested for many years Also included is a matching small blue album containing the original inserts that describe the design of each medal and provides information on the artists. This smaller album and its inserts are in mint condition. In addition, buyer will receive these other original materials: letters from the Franklin Mint describing how to remove the medals from their shipping containers and insert them in their holders. letters describing the display album and how it is used 3 envelopes of "Special Gloves" from the Franklin Mint 5 each Franklin read more
