Magnificent Franklin Mint King Tutankhamun Egyptian chess set. This Magnificent Franklin Mint pyramid Chess Set is simply beautiful! SOLD OUT - RETIRED - HARD TO FIND SOLD EXCLUSIVELY BY THE FRANKLIN MINT THIS RARE ITEM IS SOLD OUT AND RETIRED NO MORE OF THESE WILL EVER BE CREATED Magnificent Franklin Mint King Tutankhamun Egyptian chess set, no longer available from the Franklin Mint. This set features a glass pyramid cover atop a lacquered wooden board, footed by gold plated statues. The pieces are very heavy -- they are 24K-solid gold-plated. The corner statues are solid pewter. The set cost about $1,800.00 new, more than 10 years ago. Colors are based on the thick enameling on the bases of the pieces Measurements: 16" square overall. Board legs are 2-3/4" high. Pawns are 1-3/8" high, and royals are about 2" high and very heavy. 1 3/8" - 2" TALL the 32 chess pieces are heavy they weigh approx. 8lbs they are 24K-gold-plated pewter on enameled bases, Condition: Like New, Excellent conditions, we have had it in the livinroom just for display and always has being the main attraction over the other chess sets on my collection.
