Inaugural FRANKLIN MINT MOTHERÂ'S DAY PLATE BY IRENE SPENCER SOLID STERLING SILVER/LIMITED EDITION 1972 SERIAL NO. 14509 This offering is for one Limited Edition Sterling Silver Christmas plate titled Â"Mother and ChildÂ". HISTORY: · Franklin Mint issued 4 annual MotherÂ's Day plates from 1972-1975 each carrying an original work of art created by the famous American artist Irene Spencer solely and exclusively for this limited edition. These designs have never been issued before and will never be issued again in any form. Each plate is serially numbered on a medallion affixed to the reverse side of the plate. · Original minting was 21987, but this is a rare find as it is in the original box in PROOF condition and never handled. THIS SET INCLUDES: o 1 Sterling silver Mothers Day plate protected with a high-quality transparent lacquer depicting a mother cradling her baby. o This plate is encased in a white presentation box with blue silk lining. o Pacific Silvercloth polishing cloth to prevent tarnish o Certificate of Authenticity o Folder for care and handling of the Plate and bio of Irene Spencer.
