A wonderfully colorful example of the tile work made by Franklin Tile Company, of Lansdale, PA. The design, which is made to hang on the diagonal from 2 factory holes, is of a rampant lion on a shield. The background glaze color is a sky blue, the lion and accents are done in black, and the shield uses 2 shades of purple, a pale pink, and a light beige. Measuring just shy of 6" square and 5/8" thick, there is one flake on the self framing border, and only the most minimal of glaze rubbing generally in very nice condition, from circa 1930.This is mounted in a custom made 3/4" solid oak frame with 3 flutes. The framed size is 12 3/4" square. (#T-1651)Key words: art tiles antique vintage Arts & Crafts Movement
