Up for bids is a great find. It is a black Fan Dancer by Frankoma in Ada Clay, ca 1934-1956. It is in wonderful condition as I am unable to find any blemishes on it. The inspiration for the Fan Dancer was the famous Sally Rand and was designed by Joseph Taylor. It was introduced by Frankoma in 1934 and discontinued in 1969. Frankoma used Ada Clay from the 30's until about 1956. The bottom of the Dancer is covered in felt but I have tried to show the color of the clay in one of the photos. The piece stands about 8 1/2" tall and is about 13" across from her right foot to the opposite side. T is a reserve on this item.
