Frankoma Peasant Farmer & Wife Figural Pair #702 I believe this Figural Pair are made of the light cream-colored clay from Ada, OK. and blended polychrome glaze. Colors are creamy white, yellow, black, greens, and browns. Approx. Measurements: Boy 7âe tall; 2 ¼âe x 2âe at base; 2âe round hat. Girl 6âe tall; 2âe round baseIn my opinion mint condition, no chips, no cracks, glaze is bright and shiny, colors vibrant. T are two small spots on the girls clay arm w the glaze transferred during firing. (see pic #2) The girl is unmarked but the boy is stamped 702. A little history: Frankoma Pottery was originally known as The Frank Potteries when John F. Frank opened shop in 1933. The factory is now working in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Early wares were made from a light cream-colored clay from Ada, Oklahoma, but in 1956 the company switched to a red burning clay from Sapulpa. The firm made dinnerwares, utilitarian and decorative kitchenwares, figurines, flowerpots, and limited edition and commemorative pieces. John Frank died in 1973 and his daughter, Joniece, inherited the business. Frankoma went bankrupt in 1990. It was bought by Richard Bernstein in 1991 and is still in business. All fragile items will be double boxed for safety.
