Here is a lovely Vintage Fratantoni Vietri Italy Majolica Smiling Sun Face Earthenware hand-painted terracotta tile or wall plaque from Italy. It is 6" across and .5" thick. Stamped "Fratantoni for Vietri Made Italy" on the back and signed "Fratantoni" on the front. Tiles such as these, called "first stones", were traditionally hung in Italian gardens or homes to assure blessings and prosperity as a sign of good luck - an old Sicilian tradition - making this a wonderful housewarming gift. The glossy crackle glaze gives this piece an old-world feel and the hanging hardware on the back makes it simple to hang. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, or stains, was only stored and not used. Will ship quickly USPS.
