You are bidding on a Battelle Knife, made by Fred F. Hassam, in Boston. This knife has the orignal sheath. The knife is 11.5 inches long and has a horn handle. T are 2 inscriptions on the handle of this knife, one side says "Battelle Knife" and the other side says "Made by Fred F. Hassam Boston" (see pictures). The edges of the blade are still sharp. This knife was found at an estate sale in San Francisco during the 1970's. This knife dates from the early 1840's, most likely a knife used by a 49er. This knife is UNRESTORED. Item will ship immediately upon receipt of payment, except if a check is used payment will be held for 5 days to allow check to clear. I am willing to ship internationally, but please email me regarding shipment options and costs.
