This auction is for One (1) Fred Harvey Plate which measures 9-1/2" across. It is made by Syracuse China. It is overall tan in color with a raised scalloped design around the rim edge. The Fred Harvey cactus design logo is a dark red/brown and located at the top 12 O'clock position. It is made of heavy stonewear or ironstone. On the back it says "Syracuse China Econo-Rim, 7 X, Trade Mark Patented." T are no chips, cracks or crazing. T are, however, a lot of utensil marks or surface scratches that can be seen when the plate is held up at an angle under strong light. This plate was probably used in a Fred Harvey restaurant or possibly a railroad dining car.

I don't know the exact age of this item. I did see an auction recently on ebay for a 1945 Fred Harvey Restaurant advertisement and this Syracuse Onondaga China plate design is featured in that ad.

A nice item to add to your collection of restaurant ware!
