This is a FREDERICK POST Drafting Table . It is from the early 1950s, maybe 1940s. The board joins to a base and the angle of tilt can be adjusted. It can go from flat to about 45 or 50 degrees. The board has a vinyl/rubber drawing cover. It also has straight edge/ledge that raises and lowers on a string pulley system. From bolts on the base, you can can adjust the height of the board from 30" to 40". The board itself measures 48" x 36" and weighs about 50 lbs. The base weighs about 20 to 25 lbs. Condition : The drafting board surface is in very good condition. Very few scratches, one burn mark. It has been very well taken care of. T are some nail holes on the edge of the board w some trim was added (then removed). The metal ledge that moves up and down has much of its finish rubbed off from use. The base has several scratches in the finish from the bolts and wing nuts. All of the wood is sound. T are no splits or cracks.
