Frederick J Wilder - August, 22, 1931 Northboro, IL Farm Scene - identified on the back This is a wonderful original oil painting on canvas panel by Frederick J Wilder (1893-1977) of Woodstock, VTPlease view all of the paintings that I will be listing from this collection - multiple purchases will receive a combined shipping rate.Condition: Good, framedSize: the art is 12 x 16" Provenance: I purchased a large collection or Arthur B Wilder & Frederick Wilder Paintings from Willaim Smith Auctions - The consigner of this collection was the Vermont Land Trust, who aquired this collection from the estate of the Artist and/or his family. Biographical Information about Frederick Jonas Wilder: Frederick Jonas Wilder was the son of Arthur B. Wilder, who was himself an avid Vermont artist and manager of the Woodstock Inn for over 35 years. Frederick Wilder graduated from the Harvard college and its graduate architectural school. Throughout his life he painted and travelled to Europe alongside his father. He painted chiefly in oils, and earned first prize for a painting he titled Across the Valley". Frederick Wilder was a member of the Wellesley Society of Painters and Portland Haylofters.
