FREDERICH J. WILDER 1965 ORIGINAL CHARCOAL/PENCIL DRAWING OF VERMONT LANDSCAPE THIS CHARCOAL DRAWING IS SIGNED CHRISTMAS COVE JUNE 26,1965. WE WILL GUARANTEE IT IS HIS WORK AND FROM HIS PORTFOLIO. THE DRAWING MEASURES 9" X 12" IT IS IN GOOD CONDITION Provenance: We purchased two large portfolio collections of Arthur B Wilder & Frederick Wilder of which are many Paintings,Etchings and Drawings from Gary Wallace Auctions - The consigner of this collection was from the estate in Wolfboro NH from the Artist and/or his family/or close friend of the family.. Biographical Information about Frederick Jonas Wilder: Frederick Jonas Wilder was the son of Arthur B. Wilder, who was himself an avid Vermont artist and manager of the Woodstock Inn for over 35 years. Frederick Wilder graduated from the Harvard college and its graduate architectural school. Throughout his life he painted and travelled to Europe alongside his father. He painted chiefly in oils, and earned first prize for a painting he titled Across the Valley". Frederick Wilder was a member of the Wellesley Society of Painters and Portland Haylofters. Excerpt from the "New England Keel" November 1st 1944 - a publication from the New England Ship Company, in South Portland, Maine - the artist was titled "Shipyard Art Show Evokes Much Praise" - "Frederick J Wilder - born Woodstock, Vermont - graduated Harvard College and its graduate architectural school - paints cheifly in oils - member of the Wellesley Society of Painters and Portland Haylofters - in yard since it was built and now in the Works Manager's Office." - "First prize winners were Frederick Wilder of Woodstock, VT for his oil, Across the Valley" PLEASE READ BELOW BEFORE BIDDING...
