(5) Ideal Christmas gift for a Mason or his lady. This is a mid-sized Masonic Ball Cross in Rose Gold on Silver. The ball is held together with a four part clasp, which is solid 9ct Gold, and opens easily to reveal that the ball is made from 6 pyramids, each one marked with Masonic symbols on each of it's 4 sides. The symbols appear to have been hand-engraved, rather than stamped or cast.I can see no maker's markings, but I believe this item dates from 1900 to 1920, comparing to others that I have in my collection where the age is known. The Ball part is 17mm diameter when closed, and the whole thing measures 44mm x 33mm when opened in the form of a cross, and weighs about 8 grammes.More pictures available on request.Included in the sale, is a PDF document containing details about these fascinating items, and an explanation of the symbols - which I will send to the winning bidder via email. Please take a look at my other listings.
