-Masonic symbols and double eagles, symbols of the Blue Lodge, Royal Arch, York and Scottish Rites to spines.
-GOLD GILT on all page ends with GOLD GILT END PAPERS **VERY RARE**
-PROFUSELY ILLUSTRATED! Illustrations in full page color plates, B&W plates, in-line drawings. 913 pp
-Good Condition
-Bindings are strong, the pages are crisp and bright with owners original signature in the front of the volumes.
- Spines are alittle loose, but typically for these sets
-Full color plates are bright and intact,minor shelf wear to the top and bottom of spines( see pictures attached).
-GOLD GILT Endpapers are present & firmly attached, overall a fantastic set for being over 80 Years Old!
-Each Book is 10-1/4" tall by 7-1/4" wide by 2-1/8" thick !!

“For twelve months, too, of the time in which I have been occupied upon this work, I suffered from an affection of the sight, which forbade all use of the eyes for purposes of study. During that period, now happily passed, all authorities were consulted under my direction by the willing eyes of my daughters, all writing was done under my dictation by their hands. I realized for a time the picture so often painted of the blind bard, John Milton, dictating his sublime verses to his daughters. It was a time of sorrow for the student who could not labor with his own organs in his vocation ; but it was a time of gladness to the father who felt that he had those who, with willing hearts, could come to his assistance. To the world this is of no import ; but I could not conscientiously close this prefatory address without referring to this circumstance so gratifying to a parent's heart.
