Beautiful 22k Gold Leaf Decorations stamped into front & spines. This is a 2 volume set of books, published in 1920, finely bound in ornate coverings with gold gilt on all 3 page ends, Lots of illustrations in full page color plates, B&W plates, in-line drawings, etc. 913 pp. Volume 1 has a full page glossy B&W illustration of Albert Mackey, followed by a full page tissue guarded color frontispiece of the three graces. Volume 2 has a full page glossy photo of William Hughan, followed by a full page tissue guarded color frontispiece of the four cardinal virtues. FIRST EDITION THUS !!! This is a rare find in any condition...... is your chance to own an authentic piece of masonry history at a reasonable price. These books are an excellent investment as market prices continue to go up and these books are sure to keep appreciating in value. Get them while you can!!! This set is absolutely wonderful ! Each volume is richly done with elaborately stamped gold gilt medallions on the front boards. 24 carat gold Gilt printing stamped on the spines. Blind stamped decorative borders of masonic symbols on the front & rear of each book. The page ends are in full gilt, the bindings are strong, the pages are crisp and bright with no writing. The full color plates are bright and intact, Barely any shelfwear to the top and bottom of spines OR rubbing on the corners. T is no "leaning" to spines, the corners exhibit minor rubbing, the endpapers are clean, t is a signature on the first blank page of each volume. The tissue guards over the frontispieces have a tear. Scattered smudgemarks in text, waterstains scattered throughout text in both volumes at margins. Minor foxing, a very nice, presentable set set. Each Book is a whopping 10" tall by 7-1/2" wide by 2" thick !! They are very heavy and the boards are thick and heavy, made to last for generations to come. T is a total of 913 pages !! is your chance to own a piece of history, The most complete, Authorative, all encompassing history of the Freemasons ever written !! These books would be a great addition to any library and an outstanding one at that. This Set is in good condition, with minimal wear. All pages and plates are present, no cracking- even the endpapers are great- nothing is loose, a solid set!!
