RARE RENEKA 1930 SILVER BAKELITE ART DECO WINE BUCKET!
Fabulous period deco French silverplate table-top wine cooler with bakelite handles, produced and marked by the famous French espresso machine makers Reneka.

Dynamic design, with ribbed base, sharply flaring sides, and brown bakelite (not tested) bullet handles.

Difficult to photograph, but the medium-brown handles have darker brown swirls within them, yielding a tortoise-shell effect.

Stamped on the bottom, "Reneka - 30 - RK."

Reneka, short for founder Rene Kauss, was founded in 1927 to produce silverware, according to the company website. In 1932, they became dedicated to the production of chrome-plated coffee machines.

Thus, the "30" hallmark on this bucket probably denotes the year of production.

Large size perfect for white wine or Champagne. 8.5 inches high, and 8 inches in diameter.

The bucket is in amazing condition given age. Plating on the exterior is completely intact, with no evidence of base metal (probably brass). No signs of wear other than a few, fine scratches. One small ding in ribbed area, as pictured. Small areas of discoloration in interior.
