The tapestry: A beautiful 19 th century French Aubusson tapestry fragment straight from Europe. A wool woven floral tapestry that was once a chair back features mums, lilies, and carnations along with fauna with bright fresh colors in varying shades of mauve, green, brown, white and beige on a soft brown ground. Overall size: L 16âe x W 13 1/4âe. Please be sure to see my second auction of a similar piece, you could make a matching par of high-end pillows! Condition: A few areas that need a little of the ground woven back in, I have one spot pictured with a pin head so you can see how small the spots are, you can see from the pictures theyâe(tm)re mainly at the top. You could probably leave as is and simply make up since theyâe(tm)re so small. One edge that has pulled away, t is enough ground and edging that you could simply cut this away without losing any design. The width measurement goes to the inside edge.
