You are bidding on a beautiful, original, French 'cage' style chandelier from the 19th Century. It is covered in an abundance of crystals of varying sizes, all corresponding opposite crystals matching. The brass patina has aged naturally and the chandelier is in excellent condition. The cage itself is very interesting and looks slightly different from different angles - there is a wider and narrower view ( see photos). This is the original design and not a fault. It looks absolutely stunning when lit. There are 39 original crystals in total and 3 bobeche light bulb holders - 2 of these face up and 1 central one faces down. The holders take a small-screw fitting bulb. The chandelier has been re-wired by London Lantern Ltd in Chiswick, using muted golden flex to blend in with the style of the fitting. Although originally French and double wired, the re-wiring has been done to UK safety standards and has 3 wires including an earth. It is ready to hang.
