DETAILS I AM CURRENTLY AUCTIONING SEVERAL OTHER ART DECO CEILING LIGHTS AND CHANDELIERS, SO PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT MY OTHER ITEMS. A beautiful and rare French art deco ceiling light/chandelier dating from around the 1920s. The glass is in absolutely perfect condition, with no damage whatsoever. The round vasque is made from extremely thick moulded pate de verre glass, and this has a blue tinge when unlit and a soft whiter effect when lit. The underside of the vasque is decorated with a magnificent design of butterflies, and all of this decoration is raised substantially from the glass. I have included several photographs of the vasque both lit and unlit, and hope that these clearly show the colours and the remarkable detail in the design. Although the glass is not signed, it is evident from the quality of the moulding and intricate detail in the decoration that it was undoubtedly produced by one of the world-renowned French cameo art glassmakers of the period, most likely Etling or Muller Freres. The light is suspended by its original chrome-coloured arms and ceiling rose. T is one light fitting above the glass vasque that takes a standard bulb, and the light is fully wired for use and in perfect working order. A beautiful and rare French art deco ceiling light that will look magnificent once again in someones home. The glass is in absolutely perfect condition, with no damage whatsoever. The three supporting arms and ceiling rose have only the usual slight signs of ageing and use consistent with a 1920s piece, and in my view the fact that they do not look brand new only adds to the overall appeal of the light. I never clean or polish vintage and antique items and leave this decision to the buyer. Electrical items should always be checked and installed by a qualified electrician.
