Preferred Checkout Circa: 1920 Dimensions: 54" wide x 22" deep x 62" high Stock Number: CV1-33 Approximate Weight: 95 lbs. This gorgeous Buffet was made in France circa 1920. We purchased it in Lyon, France. The Buffet is made of Oak. It has a rich, Deep Oak Patina. This is a French Art Deco Sideboard. It is a transitional piece with a strong Empire influence. It is simply gorgeous and in very good condition. The Buffet has a Mirrored Gallery at the Back. It Arches at the center. The Cornice of the Gallery is carved with a lush Fluted Carving. Just below is an Arched Frieze with the most spectacular Pattern of Art Deco Flowers and Foliage. It is truly organic and quite beautiful. At the center is a Mirror. The Mirror is deeply beveled. It has some dark spots due to its great age. It is flanked by Panels with beautiful Drapery Carving at the top.T are Flowers are carved above the Drapery. The Stile between the Panel is carved with a Pattern of Reeding. A Shelf runs across the bottom of the Gallery. It has groove carved into it so that you can display your fine china plates Reeded Scrolls support the Shelf. The Top of the Buffet is a gorgeous Gold and Burnt Sienna Marble. It has a maize of Black and Gray Veins running through it. The Base of the Buffet bows outward at the center. The Marble Top, Drawer and Door at the middle bow outward to follow this design. The Base consists of a Central Drawer and Door flanked by Long Doors at each side. The Central Drawer opens to reveal the perfect place to store your fine silver settings. The Door just below is quite beautiful. It has a deeply Pronounced Drapery Carving across the top. An intricately carved Pattern of Art Deco Flowers and Foliage flows above the Drapery Carving. The Door opens to reveal an interior fitted with a Custom Shelf. The Doors at each side are splendidly carved. Multi-tiers of carved moulding frame the outer edge. Along the top is a beautiful Pattern of Flowers and Foliage. T he Center of each Panel has a lushly carved, Oval Medallion depicting a bouquet of flowers.The Flowers are flowing out of Rococo Shells. The Door opens to reveal a splendid Storage Compartment with a Shelf built across the center. Your fine china will store beautifully in this roomy interior. Fluted Pilasters flow down each side of the Buffet into Baluster Turned Legs. The Buffet retains all of its original hardware. This includes the hinges, intricately formed Drop Pulls, key plates, Lock, and Skeleton Key. This is one of the finest French Art Nouveau Sideboards we have seen. It has a warm, rich character and is spectacularly carved. This is an opulent piece created to make a statement in a formally decorated Dining Room.
