22 (56 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, painted lashes and brows in the classic Steiner manner, closed mouth with shaded lips having upturned corners, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body, pretty antique French schooldress, undergarments, black stockings, antique shoes. The doll is marked 9 on head, and Le Petit Parisien on torso. There is a 1 1/2 hairline at crown rim onto forehead, the body has mis-matched and repainted limbs. Mystery maker, although the modeling, painting and original torso indicate Jules Steiner, circa 1885.
