18 (46 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, almond shaped blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with smiling expression on the richly accented lips, pierced ears, light brown mohair wig over cork pate, kid poupee body with square-cut collarette, gusset jointing of legs, wooden-arms with dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows and wrists, separately carved fingers and palm lines, wearing original muslin chemise, leather slippers with paper label from Magasin des Enfants, and with antique velvet and taffeta gown included. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: G (head and shoulder plate). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1872 when the head model was deposed. Value Points: very beautiful quality of bisque, sculpting and painting, original body with rare wooden arm variation shown in Bru catalog. Estimate: 3000/4000
