Fantastic bronze lion and lioness is signed by French artist Prosper Lecourtier (1851-early 1900's) I have not cleaned this item at all. It is in need of restoration. Someone has put some paint on the back two thirds of each figure. T is a crack in the metal base. I do not see any damage to either of the lions other than the paint. Bottom metal plate shows no distinquishing marks. The lion looks similar to the Prosper Lecourtier Museum Quality Bronze that I found on the site . Statue measures approximately 10" long by 4" wide by 6" tall. I am starting this low and you will get a bargain if it doesn't go for much. Payment may be made by Paypal-(Paypal required for sales outside the United States.) Money order or personal check are accepted for sales within the US.
Since already I have three questions concerning this piece, I decided to try to answer them with more pictures and better description. The paint is gold trying to blend in with the patina of the bronze. After a more careful study, it looks as if t may be damage to one or both of the tails that someone tried to poorly fix and replace. Again, I have done no cleaning of this item and hope you know a restoration process to return this to a museum quality piece. Thanks, Patty
