A SUPERB PAIR OF FRENCH ANTIQUE ORNAMENTAL FURNISHING MADE IN THICK BRONZE representing basket of flowers over two interwined snakes (Caducea) known as the symbol of pharmacy and medical care. The cartouche measure 10 1/2 inches high and 2 1/2 inches wide (27 X 6 cms) and they both weigh 1,8 lb. They were probably cast around 1870/1880 to decorate a pharmacy.
