A fine French Quarter hour repeating Carriage Clock. The original leather outer case, is signed: "Bigelow Kennard & Co. Boston" The bottom is engraved, June 29, 1898. The clock can be set to strike, Hours-Quarters, Quarters, Silent. The "Grande Sonnerie" striking system. I worked with a very good watch maker for a couple of years. He had been employed by "Bigelow Kennard." Harry was very good with fine work. He taught me to love my craft. The key has the same serial number as the clock, "1283." The clock keeps time. The strike functions as it should. The clock looks to have been serviced 10 - 15 years ago. The case is complete, as is the outer leather case. This is one of the better carriage clocks that I have seen. T is no damage. Some scratches, yes! But no filling away, of parts. People who worked on this clock, knew what they were doing. It includes a complete leather case , that is signed,"Bigelow Kennard." This clock was a lot of fun to work on! Now I get to sell it! And find another small machine to pass my time! Work ! What is that? Oh, my real job. Clocks and watchs are fun! Skill is required! The cost of shipping within the U.S, will be free ! The clock will be shipped via U.S.P.S. Registered, Insured, mail. Out side the U.S., the cost of shipping will be $51.00.
