This unbelievable rarest of all Green Confit forms ever found on Ebay was made during the late 18thC into the debut of the 19th only. They were made in a small region just north-ouest of Bordeaux and south of SaintOnge....just at the edge of the 'Confit Pot Frontiere(border)' that runs from Languedoc across le midi au sud-ouest near the north border of Aquitaine on the Coast of South-Western France. This piece was made specifically with only one anse (ahnz) (handle) as it was made for transporting Confit from the big pots and bringing them into the kitchen w they sat for daily use as Confit replaced oil and butter for most dishes in this small area It is interesting to note that although t is always wear and tear around the rim and maybe a few smal pieces of glaze chips on the exterior..this is the one confit pot w the majority of wear is to the interior as this piece was never used for conservation in the barn or the ground. In one of my photos you can see the top of the interior and how the wear starts at the rim and descends into the pot..not to the exterior. These small 7 inch (always the same size..always) special one handle confit pots are only museum pieces. As it happens, I have three :) Instead of putting this on my site 'Jaunes et Vertes' for my clients, I wanted to offer this rarest of rare beauties to my loyal Ebay clients. read more
