About me: I have been a member on Ebay for about a year now and I've been buying many different types of antiques on Ebay, private auctions, and estate sales. I am now in the process of opening up an antique furniture and decorative arts store and I overstocked a little so now I am selling some very beautiful and extremely rare antiques and items on Ebay. The Item: we present to you a 100% GUARANTEED French Figural Pair of Bust of Two Female Children's Faces representing the seasons of Summer (Ete) and Autumn (Automne). They are dated to the 19th c. The pair depicts two seasons. They are adorable. The one representing summer has a playful facial expression, showing the mood of summer, and a gorgeous blue bow scarf decorated in circular gilted. She has gilted wheat in her lifelike hair and encrused flowers on the back and sides, as you can see. The texture of her hair is three dimensional. Her cheeks are rosy and eyes are beautiful and blue. The child representing autumn has a more serious expression, showing the feeling associated with autumn. Her hair is decorated with veiny leaves and incredibly lifelike hair as well. Her chest is decorated on the right side with leaves and gold grapes falling out of her hair (gilted on both sides of her hair). The bases are blue and with a gilted design. These children are gorgeous and precious. Please view pictures for more detail for they are more beautiful than words can describe.They are made by a renowned pottery maker in France, known since the 18th century for his creations. They each stand 9 1/2" in height, of a considerable size. Their condition is excellent. Dont miss this rare pair !! We acquired it from an older gentleman from a Manhattan apartment whose wife passed away recently and he is moving to Florida and we are fortunate enough to have gotten to know him and he was a great collector of valuable antiques, so please view our other listed items.
