FRENCH & INDIAN WAR Declared 1756 COLONIAL Newspaper ** is a complete, genuine historic newspaper with the following title, date and description: THE PENNSYLVANIA GAZETTE , Philadelphia, August 19, 1756 * War declared against France * Much news on the French & Indian War * Susquehanna Indians Proclamation A quite early colonial newspaper published by none other than the world famous Benjamin Franklin, although the "advertising leaf" which appeared with this issue, and upon which was the imprint of "B. Franklin", is not as it was typically not bound with the issue since it carried only ads. The ftpg. has : "A Proclamation" concerning the Susquehanna Indians in Penna. (see photos). Being from the French & Indian War it is no surprise that most of the ftpg. is taken up with a lengthy article concerning the war, beginning: "You are very sensible we have had many reiterated accounts from North America of the barbarous & inhuman cruelties that have been lately exercised on our poor countrymen, which are said to be perpetrated by our inveterate enemies the French, & by the Natives in Alliance with them at their instigation..." with much more (see photos for portions). Pg. 2 has much on the French & Indian War as well, with items including: "Wednesday last his Majesty's Declaration of War against the French King was published from the balcony
