This stunning original French poster is a limited edition lithograph, # 536/1000, hand signed by the artist, Lucien Boucher. It is in outstanding condition and is matted on acid free material, in a dark walnut frame. It was originally made for the National Association for French Indochina, or as the poster says at the bottom, "Edite Par L'Association Nationale Pour Indochine Francaise". Although 1000 of these were originally made, I have never found any evidence of any others existing, in looking on line and showing it to poster dealers around the world. This is an extremely rare poster, and clearly dates back to the time when Indochine was still a French colony. It has beautiful colors, with some highlights in silver leaf, and features many beautiful images of things for which the different regions were known, such as Angkor Wat in what is now Cambodia, the imperial palace in Hue, rice farming with water buffaloes in the Meekong Delta, Montagnard tribesmen in the inland mountains, a rickshaw near Saigon, many lovely boats in the South China Sea, as well as elephants, tigers, antelope, cobras.... In short this is a visually rich, and very historic poster. Poster dimensions are 24 X 37" unframed and 33 x 46" framed.
