Limoges Matchbox Mouse - Peint Main Up for auction is a precious reading mouse snuggled into his matchbox bed. The details are amazing: this adorable grey mouse is adjusting his golden glasses as he reads his picture book by candlelight. T's even a feather pen t for him whenever he gets inspired to write. The clasp is a gilded feather. When the mouse is pulled away from his reading table, a surprise is reavealed: a pack of matches. A feature that makes this box particularly special is its structure -- t are two nesting pieces just like a real matchbox. Limoges boxes frequently have a small piece that is hidden inside the larger piece, but it's very unusual to find a box that is comprised of two substantial pieces nested together. The pictures didn't come out, but it is marked on the bottom as "Limoges France Peint Main," which means hand-painted.
