In excellent condition. Four are inscribed, three having been posted directly and the fourth sent in an envelope. Starting with number 4083, continuing through number 4092 and including number 4097, this series of cards documents the launch of the Compagnie Generale Transatlantique's historic ILE DE FRANCE on March 14, 1926. The first ten cards show her on the ways just before the launch, sliding into the water and, finally, being taken in tow just after the launch. The last card shows her in the final stages of fitting out in 1927 so presumably the four cards not in this group show the different stages of this development.
