Unusual Louis XIV Style Pedestal / Stand Beautifully veneered walnut and other fruit woods pattern all four sides. A hexagon shaped pedestal in topped with Verde marble surface and is framed by brass and ormolu accents throughout. Embellished withgilt-composition acanthus leaves and cast bronze figurines and faces.
The brass detailing is beautifully rendered and finished. Perfect for displaying art. Dimensions (inches): Overall: 49 x 16 wide x 16 deep Marble Platform: 10 x 10 x .75 thick Footprint: 15.25 x 15.25 Condition: The marble platform may be removed. It has sustained some wear but overall is in very good condition. Veneer overall is very good condition with possible water damage visible on one side (pictured). Portions of the veneer are slightly raised and the finish is scuffed in places. Provenance: Purchased from a San Francisco antique dealer. This is most likely not a period piece, but made in the 19th century by a highly skilled European cabinetmaker. Conditions of Sale: Local pick-ups are welcomed! Delivery available. Pick-Ups are welcomed, a $10.00 pick-up fee will be assessed. Items must be picked up within 10 days of auction's close. Not responsible for items left past 10 days.
