Interesting and rare woven silk postcard from France probably by Neyret Freres (unsigned) "Sacre Coeur" possibly being the original title. Excellent quality silk and highly detailed. One of a six religious silk cards listed this week (do have a look at the other five). Silk woven cards are more commonly by English weavers such as Stevens (of Stevengraph fame) and W.H.Grant. Date: early 1905-1915 (estimated) Condition - Silk is very good. Some mild grubbiness to card and edge wear. The edge is a light brown colour - I do not know if tis is original of if it has browned with age Postcard back - Undivided back with writing (in French) Postage and packing (plastic card protective envelope and stiffener envelope) : UK £1.00 Europe £1.50 Rest of World £2.00 (insurance, if required will be extra). Any other cards sent at the same time will be post free regardless of destination. For posting to Italy, items must be insured (at additional cost). I obtain proof of posting but can not be held responsible for items lost in the post.
