French 'Object of Virtu' 1905 Trophy Snuff Box we have a Truly Spectacular Antique French 950 Sterling Silver "Object of Virtu" Trophy Snuff Box with Gilt Interior given in 1905 and fully hallmarked with the French 1st Standard Minerva Mark for 950 Fine Sterling Silver. This is Simply One of the Finest French Pieces we have ever run across! It is Breath Taking in person! The Interior retains the Original Gilt Decoration in perfect condition and is inscribed on the interior lid with " Presented by the Fusil de Chasse Paris for Competition by the I of W Gun Club 15 June 1905. Inset into the lid is a Beautiful LE FUSIL DE CHASSE 1898 Medal that has a Shotgun laying across a floral decoration on the inside surface and on the outside cover side it has a beautiful Goddess with a Hound and Staff with Apteus written across the top of the solid silver medal. The overall finely engraved decoration is of the highest quality and some of the finest we have ever seen!Truly a RARE a Stunning Piece of High Quality Antique French Silver!It measures 2 3/4" across and sits 1" high and weighs 4 ounces.This would be a Wonderful Addition to any Fine Antique Silver Collection.
