About me: I have been a memberon Ebay for about a year now and I've been buying many differenttypes of antiques on Ebay, private auctions, and estate sales. I am now in the process of opening up an antique furniture and decorative arts store and I overstocked a little so now I am selling some very beautiful and extremely rare antiques and items on Ebay. As you can see, I have 100% positive feedback ratings. You can bid with confidence The Item: we present to you a stunning pair of RARE rich lvory colored FRENCH LIMOGES Figural Vases/Ewers, dating to c. 19 th century . They are designed by the artist Martial Redon, a wonderful highly acclaimed designer and manufacturer for the Limoges factory at this time, he began in 1853 and these pieces have both his signature marks of MR and M Redon in a circle on the base. The vases/ewers themselves are stunning in color, design and master craftsmanship. They are large, have a rich crisp dominating ivory base, intricately gilted designs handles that extend into the motif of the vases themselves which turn into wonderful gold tree branches and leaves in relief on which 2 lovely cherubs are holding onto. The outline of the vase/ewer on the mouth and on the bottom is gilted as well, as well as the nest with eggs that the cherub with the blue garment is holding, he most likely playfully took it from the branch, as is the bird that the cherub with the gold garment is holding, who also probably playfully took it from the same branch. It seems like a heroic story, that the cherubs are saving the bird and his eggs since the bird remains in despair as the cherub looks over her. The cherubs are gorgeous and chubby, with thick wavy curls of different shades. Their positions face eachother in unison and their toes, hands, and facial expressions are incredibly lifelike and darling. They are either in motion or it is windy based on the free flowing drapes, which are lifelike as well in their folds. They each measure 17 1/4" in Height and 8" Wide at the Widest point ! The shape of the vases/ewers is grandeoise and unique as is the motif, and stunning story and relief that it depicts. Truly a wonderful work of master craftsmanship by the talented and acclaimed artist Martial Redon for Limoges. DONÂ'T MISS THIS RARE CHANCE TO OWN TWO PIECES OF HISTORY! On the bottom of each vase/ewer is the artists initials MR and in a circle M. Redon and Limoges. Item Condition: We inspect all items and include a full description of what we observe.
