Founded in 1858, Widdicomb Furniture has been known throughout its history of furniture making as being one of the truly finest makers of French, Italian, English, American, and Russian reproductions in the world. This tall chest was designed by Ralph Widdicomb who for over 50 years designed all of John Widdicomb Company furniture. Ralph Widdicomb was awarded first prize for his Modern bedroom suite at the Paris Exposition in 1900. In 1924, working from models he had procured in Europe, he introduced Louis XV Provincial designs, which were the first of their kind to be made in this country, and started the wave of popularity for French Provincial that still continues today. Measurements: 51 1/2 inches Tall 34 1/2" Wide 20 1/2 inches Deep Consists of 5 drawers with beautifully aged Mahogany finish with gilded trim and original hardware We also have a matching pair of twin beds, dresser, end tables/bedside tables, and desk/dressing table
