This is a beautiful piece of French 950 silver. This is a mustard container with a glass insert. The mark on the bottom indicates that it dates sometime between 1838 and 1890. It stands 4" stall and 2-1/2" wide at the widest point. The bottom foot is almost 1-3/4" in diameter. The lid is 1-1/2" in diameter with a slot for the spoon. The glass insert is 1-3/4" tall and 1-1/2" in diameter. The bottom is ground and polished with no chips, flakes or cracks. The silver jar is in perfect condition with no dents or splits although the pictures do show that it needs a good polish. The mark on the bottom is of Minerva for 950 silver circa 1838 and there are a few touch marks around the bottom to show that is indeed solid silver. My digital scale shows that without the glass insert, it weights 3.8 oz.
