Welcome to ~FRENCH VINTAGE LINENS AND ANTIQUES~ W You Will Find Beautiful and Unusual Vintage Linens & Apparel and Antiques from France ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~French Vintage Nightgown in Linen with Lovely Embroidery ~ This French vintage gown has been fashioned of fine linen. The outstanding detail of this gown is the neckline which has been lavishly embroidered in a lacy pattern across the front and back and around the arm openings. The front and back garlands of lacy openwork flowers are underscored by a band of feather-stitching. The neckline and arm openings are finished with an edging scalloped embroidery as well. This gown closes at both shoulders with tiny mother-of-pearl buttons. Finally t is a lovely monogram in classic script which reads 'L P.' The cut of this gown is classic, falling gracefully from the shoulders, and making it charmingly feminine and elegant. This gown measures 46 1/2 inches long, 20 inches across at the underarms and 14 inches across at the shoulder seams. Although we are not able to give exact sizes because they vary so widely, we could say that this gown is a 'medium' size. This gown is snowy white and in superb vintage condition with no signs of wear and just a very small and faint discoloration at the hemline.
