We found this great primitive game board at a country estate sale here in Maine today. It measures 15 1/2 inches square, 1 inch thick, and is in old blue , green and dirty white paint . It has old square hand cut nails on the two sides that still have the old blue paint. The other two sides have no doubt been replaced as they do not have the blue paint and are attached with wire nails. They are however very old, not a recent alteration. There are two pockets cut out of the bottom and it appears that they originally had slide covers that held the game pieces.
