Frida Kahlo Decorative Pillow

This auction is for a Frida Kahlo Pillow. This one measures 16" x 16". I love Frida, and I'm always looking for creative ways to display her and her artwork. The picture is "Self Portrait 1941". The fabric surrounding the picture is from the Alexander Henry collection "Frida's Garden". I have also embellished the picture with fabric paint. On each side of the pillow I've included large vintage beige pom pom trim. The back of the pillow is a dark red faux suede.

During her lifetime, Frida created some 200 paintings, drawings and sketches related to her experiences in life, physical and emotional pain and her turbulent relationship with Diego. She produced 143 paintings, 55 of which are self-portraits. When asked why she painted so many self-portraits, Frida replied: " Because I am so often alone, because I am the person I know best."
