Friedrich Goldscheider Wien Figural Lamp Woman Sewing Description: for auction is this Vintage Austrian Porcelain Figural Lamp It depicts a woman sitting at a sewing table working on a piece of fabric. It is finished in enamel porcelain, and her face and arms have a matte finish. Her dress has a very light lavender hue, and the sewing table is a very light tan color. She is mounted on an assymetric plinth base which is mounted to a white lamp base. The lamp hardware is painted an ivory color, and it has a turn switch on the back of the lamp. The porcelain form is marked in several places; on the back on the plinth base, it is impressed marked "Freidrich Goldscheider Wein Reproduction Reservee 3355 7 36" ; on the side at the base, it is also impressed signed with what appears to be a decorator's or modeller's signature, but it is difficult to read, perhaps "Chiric" or something similar. Underneath this signature it is also faintly impressed in script, "goldscheider". Circa turn of the century. Measurements: the porclain figure (including porcelain base) measures approx. 12" tall the porcelain base measures approx. 5 1/4" wide in the back. the overall hieght of the lamp from the metal base to the harp finial is approx 24" tall.
