I have a Fritz-made Becker pipe in my collection. I absolutely love it, and I doubt I will ever part with it. I doubt you'll ever part with this one, either. What you're looking at is what I would call a stacked Dublin. You're going to think I'm crazy, but it reminds me a little bit of chocolate Rice Krispies snacks. That's not a knock. I actually think it's pretty cool. The smooth top really sets it off. Now, how do I know it was made by father and not son? Well, I don't for sure, but I have been told that Fritz's and Paulo's stamps were ever-so-slightly different. The first "e" in Becker had a tail at the beginning on Paulo's stamp, was Fritz's did not. Nor is it evident on this pipe. T is no grade or size designation on this pipe either. It is just simply stamped "Hand Made In Italy," dating the pipe to 1983 at the very oldest. That stamp was dropped in 1995, and Fritz passed away in 1991. Tfore, by process of elimination I am going to date this pipe between 1983 and 1991. Did you really need that information? It's a Becker and it's a killer smoke, regardless of who made it. Now, the condition of this pipe. Being that it is rusticated t aren't any nicks or dings, at least that I can see.
