Beautiful, high grade and uncirculated Alaska Statehood Heraldic Art Medal. This is medal #1 in a series of 60 regular issue medals made by Robert McNamara of Cleveland, Ohio between 1959 and 1978 (for more information on these medals check out my website at ). This medal is free from PVC contamination and looks like the day it was made. Also included is a piece of descriptive literature (written by Robert McNamara and is much rarer than the medals as most collectors discarded it) that describes both the obverse and reverse designs and a 2"x2" envelope that the medals were sent in (serial number may be different from the one shown). This medal is the same size and weight as a U.S. half dollar weighing 192 grains of .925 sterling silver instead of 90% coin silver. I will also include a list of all the Heraldic Art medals, coin club medals and counterstamps made by Robert McNamara for new collectors to know what a complete collection of these medals would consist of and to use as a check list while putting a set together.
